RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo has been named the Bundesliga's Player of the Month for August 2021.
Olmo, who plays as a defender in RB Leipzig's youth setup, was awarded the honor by the club's official website on Wednesday after scoring three goals in the team's four-game run of victories over Hamburg, Augsburg and Wolfsburg last week.
The 24-year-old winger is one of the youngest players to be named the Bundesliga's Player of the Month since the award was first given in 2018.
"Playing for RB Leipzig means a lot to me," Olmo said in a statement released by the club. "I'm grateful for this recognition from my teammates, coaches and fans for their support throughout the season."
The German international also received praise for his defensive work ethic and commitment to the team's cause.
"I've always been committed to my football and I've never let anyone down," Olmo added. "It's great to have been recognized like this, it's important to keep working hard and doing what we need to do to succeed."
RB Leipzig's performance this season has been impressive, with Olmo contributing to nine goals and six assists in the league so far.
The midfielder will now look forward to next season, where he hopes to continue his promising career at RB Leipzig.
"Next year will be even more exciting for me," Olmo said. "I want to play at the highest level and I'll make sure to stay focused and dedicated to my football."
