Neymar Jr. has announced that he will not be leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to join the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, as reported by The Athletic.

The Brazilian superstar had reportedly been offered a lucrative contract with Al-Nassr, which would have seen him earn more than $2 million per week. However, Neymar decided against accepting the offer and instead focused on securing a successful season in France.

In an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro, Neymar said: "I'm very happy at PSG and I want to continue playing here."

He added: "I have always dreamed of playing in France, but I also wanted to show my best to my fans and supporters in Brazil. So I chose to stay at PSG."

Neymar's decision is likely to be welcomed by fans of PSG, who were disappointed when the star left the club to sign for Barcelona in 2017. The forward scored 49 goals in his first season in Spain and helped Barca win La Liga and the Copa del Rey.

Despite this success, Neymar was often criticized for his lack of commitment to the club and his inability to produce consistent performances. In response, PSG signed Kylian Mbappe from Monaco in 2018 and the duo went on to win the Ligue 1 title in their debut season together.

With Neymar now set to remain at PSG, it remains to be seen whether he can help the team challenge for the top spot in the Ligue 1 table once again next season. However, given his talent and experience, there is no doubt that he will play a key role in helping PSG achieve their goals.
