Toulouse FC's hopes of qualifying for the round of 16 in the French Ligue 1 have been thwarted by Lens, who defeated them 2-1 at home on Sunday.
The match was a closely contested affair throughout, but it was Lens who eventually emerged victorious, thanks to two goals from Yannick Bolasie and a late strike from substitute Moussa Dembélé.
Despite the loss, Toulouse will still progress to the next round as they now have a better goal difference than their opponents.
Meanwhile, Openda FC has also progressed to the round of 16 after securing a 3-2 victory over AS Monaco on Saturday.
The win came courtesy of three goals from their forwards, including a brace from Mikel Olaore and a penalty from Emmanuel Nwankwo.
Openda will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or Rennes in the next round of the competition.
Overall, both teams will be happy with their performances this weekend, although it is clear that Lens' victory was a major blow for Toulouse's hopes of reaching the knockout stages. However, Openda's success should provide some much-needed confidence for their players heading into the next round of fixtures.
